Anyone see this just now on Channel 4? That last bit was amazing. I sorta half picked up on things throughout the show but didn't understand the significance. I thought, he wants us to know that, but didn't realise when he wanted it used and presumed it was being used for that particular trick only.
If you missed it it's repeated on E4 December 31 at 9pm, well worth a watch.
