Someone posted about the RPG game Lunar Silver Star for the Sega Saturn on Facebook earlier, and it reminded me that I have the Playstation remakes of both Lunar Silver Star Collection and Lunar 2 Eternal Blue Collection box sets. Plus the Arc the Lad Collection in similar packaging.

These are really nice limited edition boxsets I imported from America at the time. Released by Working Designs, a developer that specialised in localising Japanese games for the US market.

Each comes with an extra soundtrack CD and a cloth map of the game world. Plus a making of disc, a hardbacked game manual and other collectable items. I never saw these in the UK anywhere (never officially released over here) and I only knew about it at the time because I was making a collection of every RPG on the original Playstation.

I checked on eBay and these must be quite rare a they are going for £350-500 depending on which one. So that was a nice investment. I never did finish Lunar 2 or Arc the Lad. Some more games I keep intending to go back to at some point. Arc the Lad is now available on PS4 as a direct classic port. Apparently Lunar 1 also got another remake for the PSP, called Lunar: Silver Star Harmony.

That looks really nice. Sometimes I browse Play Asia, they often have collector editions we don't get here in the west.

Yeah, not anymore since many years, I used to like that stuff, but nowadays I need space for other things.

I'm not that interested in buying physical collectors editions or boxsets of anything released these days. Everything digital for a long time. I would only be tempted by something special from Squaresoft or similar. PS2 era is about as new as it gets for physical copies.

I completely switched to digital after my back operation. As I couldn’t get up and not being able to swap a disc, I just bought everything digital and got rid of physical media.

I would expect you managed to claim a small amount of real estate back for not having to sore the Physical Media. :shades:
