I really wonder how this will end up to be. I mean last year, when I saw it first, it looked quite promising, and I couldn't imagine what they were really up to, but now, when they're telling us how big and diverse this is, I find it hard to believe. Might get boring after a while? But I definitely want to see it released. Top or flop?

Could go either way I think. I'm certainly going to check it out.

It's probably just too big is what I worry. Some of the purpose is to go out and discover things, and others can see what you've discovered. But why would anyone when there's so much else to see and discover for themselves? There will also be resource gathering, crafting and trading systems in place. And there's space combat if you're so inclined. Will have to see how it all works out. But I'm interested.

I'm also interested, but what will it provide to entice people away from Elite and the other recent space game releases?

Also I thought the planets in this was supposed to be realistically huge, but the one he flies down to is tiny. Way too small to feature an atmosphere, have normal gravity and be a functioning habitat and so on. I may remember wrong how realistic they were aiming to be though.

People without PCs, or wanting to play on a bigger screen?

I want to play Elite, but I think my PC is not decent enough to run it properly, so I'm stuck. Why there's no console port of it?

The problem is that whilst Elite can be played on a console controller (I started off using an Xbox 360 one). it really isn't easy and only comes into its own with a proper HOTAS flight stick. They will have to dumb it down a bit for consoles.

There is also no way consoles can produce the graphical detail or resolutions possible on PC. I'm running it on a 3 screen setup for example.

I don't have any of these 3, no flight stick, no decent graphics card and not 3 screens. So I wouldn't mind if it's dumbed down, but I understand what you mean, and you're also right.
