It does look really nice from the videos. Lets hope it plays as well, but also doesn't drift too far from the original games in the series.

Out next year too. We have waited a long time, so one more year won't be long. :)

Looking forward do play it.
some time ago i try some open world space games, but i didn't enjoy them so much. X3 was the best so far.
Yesterday i installed the "take on Mars" not true space game, or at least not open world, but it looks very cool.

There is also a new game in the X series in development called X Rebirth. This is also looking really nice and is due for release in Europe on the 15th November 2013, so not long to wait.

This looks great. I played Frontier for like 1000 hours. If they get this right and add in enough innovative features, I might well give it a try. The last space-faring game I played was Freelancer, but it didn't keep my interest for long.

I enjoyed Freelancer and did actually finish it. It was a great looking game with an easy control system, but the single player was very linear, which was it's main downfall. The other was the very limited interaction when on planets.. although more than you ever got with Elite. Best Space game for off ship interaction had to be Earth and Beyond.

I also played Starlancer and Freelancer a lot, loved it, although I never completely finished it. I also played and finished the Freespace games, which I also loved.
