What to do with an old PS2 when you get a new console like PS3 or Xbox ?

Sell the PS2?
- for how much? the value for a second hand is ridiculous... if new is about 70 euros... second hand will be what? 30 euros?
- my PS2 is "chiped", has 2 controllers and 2 controllers extensions, how much should i ask for it?

Keep the PS2?
- i can use the controllers in PS3... there is an adapter for them...
but i have 2 PS3 controllers... why should i need 4 ?
- any other use?? reading CDs or DVDs... today anything can read them...
- keep it as sentimental value?

what do you think?

Keep it.

It's chipped, it's a PS2 and it'll still play all the games your PS3 won't play.

There is almost nothing to gain by getting rid of it, but a lot to lose if you do.

I agree, even though my PS3 is the original launch model that includes PS2 emulation I keep my PS2 as the emulation on the PS3 is far from perfect. Also my PS2 is chipped so it can play.. uh.. imports. Yeah.

You might need the controllers too. The PS3 supports up to seven. Not many games around with simultaneous seven-player gameplay, but they do exist. Or you could always use them for PC games. Will need adapters of course.

I say keep it, you can watch downloaded DivX movies on there with the sms player, and run a fair few emulators too (Megadrive, Amiga, Nes etc.). Its also great if kids come around and you dont want them touching your ps3 ;).
