Looks like I've been playing far too much COD, my PS3 will no longer read games :(

Read games, or won't boot at all? Do movies work, and other stuff, like music or movie streaming? PSN?

Which CoD, Modern Warfare 2? Because I read that with this game you can really damage your console, as it needs that much CPU power, that your soldering joints could melt on older PS3's, thus damaging it and not powering up anymore.

Hit it with a hammer just to see if that works:evil:.

ps3 suffers with the same solder troubles as the 360 (manufacturers saving pennies), you can try to reflow the solder, how old is the ps3 btw?

cheers, JuvUK

That's a greek way, and suprisingly or not, most times it works. :p

(not by a hammer of course, but kick it with your fist a couple of times)

Any discs? What about DVDs or BR?

Did it happen after installing the 3.21 firmware? Seems a lot of people are having issues after installing it (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=241848?cid=OTC-RSS&attr=CVG-General-RSS).

I don't have any BR, but will try DVD tomorrow..

And yes, it did happen after that update...they better fix it, that's all I can say
