Hi,

In both my A600/A1200 and A1200T i use 2,5" IDE cables (A600/a1200) and a 3,5" IDE cable (A1200T). All these cables are 2 ways only, so they are female-female. They are not like usual PC IDE cables were you have 1 female (mboard) and 2 females for HDs 1 for master and 1 for slave.

For Amiga can i use this 3,5" IDE PC standart cable?

Yes, a standard PC IDE cable (40 wire) will work fine if using a 3.5" buffered interface in an A1200. You can also use the newer 80 wire IDE cables. I do in my A4000 and they work fine.

If however you wish to connect a cable directly to the A1200 IDE port you would need to use a 2.5" to 3.5" cable to convert from one to the other if a buffered IDE interface isn't being used. Also remember that 2.5" cables supply power the the HD, whereas for a 3.5" HD you need to power it from a separate 4pin molex power cable.

Yes i have an adapter from 2,5 to 3,5 in my A1200T.
But if i use a normal ide pc cable, can i connect the hd in both sides (master and slave)?
