Have you tried AmigaKit? They have this (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=49&products_id=174) available other than that try Amibay.

hmm, not sure if i want to spend that kind of cash! I know its not loads but there must be a cheaper way! :p

will a ps/2 mouse work via an adapter?

Buleste

They work very well with an adapter. Unfortunately they cost over twice as much. Have a look here. (http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=49&products_id=88)

I have one of those mice! They are rather good, very comfortable and quite accurate.
Definitely recommended as a replacement for any Amiga
There's also a black version, which I use on my CD32.

Your best bet is to pop over to Amibay.com (a sister site to classicamiga) and have a look in the for sale section as I remember someone had a few mice they were looking to sell. Or post a wanted advert for one. I'm sure someone will be able to help.

BTW, welcome back to classicamiga. It's been a long time.

Hey, harrison! Its great to be back! My love affair with the amiga is a very on off one lol!

so i tried the adapter that i have with a old ps\2 mouse that i found but no joy. It would never be that easy would it! I suppose those other adapters mentioned arent that price for no reason!

Reading the rules on amibay not sure i'd be welcome on with only a hotmail email:huh2: so I have got my eye on a 'tank' (never heard it called that - but i like it!) mouse on ebay.

One last thought, would a pc serial mouse work? maybe something like this? (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PC-Two-Button-Serial-Mouse-Brand-New_W0QQitemZ360097862056QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item360097862056&_trkparms=72%3A1301|39%3A1|66%3A4|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14) doubt it but thought i'd ask!

Thanks for all you help guys! loving the quick responses too!!:notworthy:

You can't currently register on Amibay with a hotmail account, but if you do want to join PM me and I can set an account up for you.

The hotmail thing is also a problem for becoming a member on the main Classic Amiga site.. anything i can do about that?!

Hotmail is a big problem due to spambots using them to automatically register bogus accounts. That is why we block their use. If you want to register on the main site PM me the details and I will set the account up for you.

Have you seen this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AMIGA-MOUSE-BUNDLE-FOR-AMIGA_W0QQitemZ120320628809QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item120320628809&_trkparms=72%3A1301|39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A12|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14) auction. 12 mice in varying condition. Use one flog the rest.

Harrison
24th October 2008, 16:08
That could be a good auction to win. You could then sell the rest on AmiBay. ;)

As for value. No Amiga mouse is really worth more than a couple of pounds at most these days.

I will set the AmiBay account up for you and let you know once it is active.

Let me know if you can now access your AmiBay account. If not I may need to manually activate it for you.

@Amigakit

I've been meaning to ask. How is Amigakit structured? I know the site redirects users to different parts depending on where you are from, but where is the actual company based? And where did it begin? Is there a physical presence in each country supported? Or is it one main company/person, and the products get distributed from there?

This is proberly best place to say this.

As of January, I will be employed by Amigakit.com.
To answer your questions (as best I can). Amigakit is based in Ely, Cardiff, South Wales. If I remember correctly from what I have been told, the site is based in UK, but when you select your country, it tailers the site for your currency etc etc.

Thats about all I can answer at the moment. Im sure amigakit will correct me if im wrong.

I've found a webpage with a DIY PS/2 to Amiga Mouse controller. It can be found here. (http://ps2m.sotchenko.ru/) I'm sure with modification it would be easy to get it to plug straight onto the pins on the 1200 mobo so it could easily be used in a PC tower case.

Anemos

yes same thinks , also you need PIC programming , they all dont have eeprom programmers.. also i dont have yet.

Buleste

If you're feeling even more DIY then you can download this (http://aminet.net/dev/cross/devpic.lha) which includes everything you need to build and programme PIC on the amiga (apparently).

There is another one here. (http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/PIC_Zone/PIC_Programmers/Epic/Epic_cct/epic_cct.html)

I've tried in the past but have received no reply. Just want to find out the history of the company and current status really. Would be good to know who we are buying from.
