That floppy Star Wars theme - how did they work out how to program the controller to do that? It's like a major geeky accomplishment of the highest order! :smartass:

Or is it, dare I say the taboo word - FAKE!!!!!!!! :zipped: Can someone technically minded shed light?

I don't care whether it's real or fake - only that the floppy drive star wars track is superb.

I reckon it's possible, you can get different tones depending of the speed and angle of the floppy drive head and motor, but I don't know if you can get as big a range as that though!

It's not fake. You can control Floppy Drive Stepper Motors to do such things. You just need to work out which commands produce the notes you need and then you can string them all together.

Here is a more simplistic one showing an Amiga drive sort of producing some music.
