Arcadia Games

I'm currently adding the Arcadia Arcade machine (Arcade cabinet using an A500 KS1.2 motherboard) and have discovered something quite interesting.

Some of the games released for it are actually parts of a single Amiga game called Indoor Sports (or SportTime Superstar Indoor Sports).

The parts of this game released for the Arcadia system are:

SportTime Ten Pin Bowling
Table Hockey (Air Hockey)

I'm now wondering if the other parts of this game, Darts and Ping Pong, were also split up and used as separate games for the system. :hmmm:

I also want to try and compile a compete list of all known Arcadia games to add to the site.

Cheers. That page was the initial source I was working from until I turned to the MAME rom sets.

I've also found a load of Arcadia flyers at http://www.arcadeflyers.com/ which prove the existence of many of the games.

I'm going to include the flyers on the site as it is some great backup resources for the games. I will also add a reference back to the site in the credits page.

I've now completed adding all of the Arcadia games I can find to the site.

And because the Arcadia Arcade System was created by Mastertronic, nearly all of the games were owned/published by them so Amiga A500 versions exist for most of them. This made it much easier to track down information about each of them. I also used the A500 versions of the games to get the credits for some of them as they look identical, so the coders, graphics artists and musicians are going to be the same.

Now to fire up MAME and get to work on some screenshots.

I just thought of another game called Up-Scope.

I was contacted by the owner of this arcade cabinet a while back as they were looking for a way to repair it and source a new A500 motherboard. They sent me some images of the cabinet boards and there are also images of the cabinet available. This arcade cabinet is very different to the standard Arcadia cabinet, but from looking at the photos of the circuit boards it looks very much like an Arcadia setup.

I will therefore add the Up-Scope game to the site as an Arcadia game when i get time to find the photos of the cabinet.

Does anyone know of any other Arcade machines based around the Amiga motherboard? Would be great to get any more that exist onto the site.

Hi, I've just got hold of an Arcadia machine off ebay.
Don't know anything about them, but it apparently doesn't work. (Not collected it yet).

Just wondering if anyone knows how it's all set up inside.
Will probably look to turn it into a MAME machine.

Anyone know if it's possible, or am I about to find out why I won it so cheap...

PS: Could never afford an Amiga as a kid so kind of pleased to finally own one.
Might make the world's first Monkey Island Arcade Machine... :p
