I was wondering about voting and polls, and their effect on daily life, so I thought I would ask the following.

Why did I vote 'No' when I just, in fact, voted in an online poll?

Anyway, generally, I don't bother voting in polls

Sometimes I do, here I generally always vote, on other sites only occasionally.

 Definitely a catch 22 if you voted anything but yes to the question. :)

As for myself, I do tend to vote in all polls here, and for sites I visit regularly, but not really on any other sites. I always vote on all of the front page poles that are held on Underground Gamer and Bit Gamer for example.

BTW, does anyone ever do those poll site questionnaires? The ones that say they will give you £4 if you complete a one? I had a go at doing a couple of these a while back and they took around 20 minutes each to complete and they were specific to a certain product. For example one I did was for insurance advert campaigns and it was actually quite interesting and told me something about how adverts work. They even used videos of the adverts or images of posters. And would miss out the logos or voice-overs and then make you try to guess which insurance company it was for, or what product they were trying to sell. Quite surprising how much of a companies identity is included in some, while others are too generic to make a guess.

If the subject is mildly interesting, I will usually vote online.

Only on some sites, like this one.

I had a go at a few of those surveys that harrison mentioned, but they were all ones that offer you about £0.50. I got nothing from them and got bored after going a few.

It happens that I vote on online polls, for example here at the Classicamiga forum. Sometimes I also submit my vote in polls that are hosted by newspapers.

Voting in polls rules, I especially like those with multiple options :]

I can't help myself - it's like an addiction. I see an online poll and I just have to vote.

I guess it's because people fought and died for our right to vote. That's why I feel so compelled to offer up my answer.

I feel the same since 1791 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitution_of_May_3,_1791), lol
