Hi guys,

Have added a few reviews for games on the main site. While doing a review for the Rise of the Robots, I stumbled accross an open letter writing by none other than Stuart Campbell in December 1994. Most of you know him from Amiga Power. I just had to read this letter, and it is great fun. To read the letter in its whole, have a look here:

Open Letter about Rise of the Robots (http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/ap2/comments/Stuart_Campbell/ROTR_letter.html)

Rise of the Robots truly stinks. Campbell is right on it and has some very good points in his letter. :)

How can it be possible for a game to take so long to come out, have so many apparently talented people working on it, and still be such a stagnant pool of **** ****? We're talking here about a two-player beat-'em-up, after all, in which it's literally impossible for player two to win a game if player one holds down a certain direction on the joystick.

So true, so true.

Nice find. Campbell's site was down for a long time so it is great to see it back in all its sarcastic glory. Will have to add a link to the main AP2 on the main site.

BTW, a link to that letter from the Rise of the Robots game's entry would be cool too.

That's a good idea. Will add a link to the game entry right away. :)

Edit:

Link to the letter has been added. Rise of the Robots - Classicamiga (http://www.classicamiga.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3000&Itemid=86)

Some things just do stand the test of time.
I had seen that rant once before and it's still just a good now as it was then.
Well done Mr C.
Great find PG.

Good point, I stand corrected. He does co-write a lot of the stuff that is on AP2 though.

Oh yes indeed, he worked on it a lot and he is almost synonomous with AP's infamous 'attitude'. Just had to mention it as I do lurk around the WoS forums a fair bit. Some interesting articles hosted on the main site too. Worth checking out.

Mm, there are some great posts on there. Some very smart guys on there at times. Often I just sit back, as I'm not really one for debating things and arguing for the sake of it.

But there are many posts that are pure comedy gold over there at times.

You are right about the comedy part. Have had a few laughs already. :) Thanks for reminding me of the site.
