Just found this news item. Please ignore this Mr Coates.

Zeus has launched its range of handmade "Jupiter" and "Mars" desktop PCs made of gold and white gold, that must be the most expensive desktop offerings around.

Specs for the sky-high price tags are only mildly impressive, running on Intel Core 2 Duo CPU, 2GB memory, 1TB hard disk drive, GeForce 8400GS graphic card and Super Multi Blu-ray HD DVD.

A high-res 24-inch widescreen monitor is bundled with each gem-studded machine.

Suggested price is around 80,000,000 Japanese yen (that's a mind-boggling £375k) for the white gold PC and 60,000,000 yen (a much more manageable £280k) for the gold model.

What bugs me about that is 2GB memory????? Can't even run Vista.

more money than sense if you ask me...

taking the gold aside the specification hardly breaks a £1,000 including the monitor, and with the volume there doing they prolly got it a lot cheaper than we could...

so really your paying for some gold leaf... sad when it comes down to that....

more money than sense....

If i had that kind of money i'd pay people to have sense.

The funny thing is that white gold is actually cheaper than proper gold as it is an alloy. It also discolours within a few years and needs to be replated.

Quite mad. I can imagine a lot of mentally challenged US rappers will be placing an order though. It's not what's in the case after all!
