Did/does anyone here own one of these CD32 accelerators?

I owned a CD32 from launch and would have loved to have got one of these units for it, but at the time, being a student, i just couldn't afford one.

The SX-32 Mk-II was especially nice with it mostly being hidden inside the CD32, unlike the huge SX-1 which was stuck outside the back of the system.

And it was a great upgrade. Adding a 68030 accelerator, up to 64MB of Fast ram, and optional FPU, an IDE HD and all the ports from the A1200 that were missing from a standard CD32. But in addition you also got a VGA port and a keyboard connector for plugging in a standard Amiga or PC keyboard. Great additions. Although I did use an A4000 keyboard with my CD32 so it wasn't something I needed.

I have to admit, the CD32 was seriosuly under used, it had (has?) a lot of potential...

so much so my currnet project for FEB will be using said motherboard... I have stated on EAB build your own hardware, I am attempting to design an "Adapter Interface" for the cd32 to allow itto use A1200 trapdoor accelertor cards, :D

I am also hoping to implement, 2 clockports and an IDE interface on it too. :D

but thats for Febs :D

Lmao, Zetro the hardware junkie, :). Be nice to see how this turns out, I stupidly soldered my sx1 to my cd32 (looked at pin config wrong), :(, which resulted in both blowing up, :(. Luckly I have a spare CD32, so i wasnt to upset, :).

Why were you soldering the SX1 to the CD32 anyway?

Mod before getting my A1200, plan was to hard solder the SX1 and fit it inside the CD32, and then have all the ports extended and stuck through plastic cover.
