Thats correct. I can safely say my age group have experienced everything as it happened (from birth of the home computer to masses of awesome tv shows). awesome times the 80's, 1 of which being this. I will definately be buying this, ;).

I completely agree. Living through the late 70's and the whole of the 80's was the greatest time ever to experience the evolution of video games from their early beginnings. And some of the greatest TV shows and films were made in that time too.

One of the best cartoons from the 80s i think in 1985 in Portugal was "Conan - future boy" directed by the great "Hayao Miyazaki".
I loved this cartoon.
And last year i get the 6 DVDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I saw them all in the same weekend !

Along with Ulysses, Mysterious Cities of Gold and Dogtanian and the Muskerhounds.

Good sing along tunes with the last three as well.

They never made it home as it got cancelled before they could and Tiamat was alright but the cartoon was bad. It was basically Care Bears for boys.

The show got cancelled, but the script for the final episode was written. It's online somewhere as I remember reading it way back. But I can't recall if they made it back in that one either.

Searched a little, and you can read what the author of the final episode has to say about it here (http://www.michaelreaves.com/requiem_preface.htm), as well as download a pdf of the script. Probably the same page I came across a while ago.

Yes, the final episode was never made. Which is a shame, because it changes EVERYTHING about the whole series. Read the script!

It is so annoying when companies do this. Why cancel a show without making a final episode to complete it? Complete madness!!!

It also seems that due to the writers strike at the moment that Battlestar Galactica might be in danger of the same thing happening which would be a crime in my view. They are rumouring that if the strike isn't resolved soon, the fourth series will be canned.

Another this happened to is the current series, Journeyman. But that was even worse. The filmed the final episode, but never aired it! How mad is that???

The problem is the other night i watched a couple of episodes of The Real Ghostbusters (Written by JMS) and sometimes the joys of childhood should stay in childhood. I loved TRG but after watching them again I realise thatthe eyes of the child are far different than the eyes of an older person (still can't bring myself to calling me an Adult or Grown Up).

Cities of Gold is different, there's a lot of clever stuff in there for adults.

I'm currently watching The Legend of Prince Valiant - I got the 10 double-sided disc set for Chrimble (brand new for a paltry £13) - and that's also got a lot of complex stuff you'd miss as a wee bairn.

Cities of Gold is definitely different. I downloaded the whole series a while back and enjoyed watching it again just as much as i remember. Dogtanian is another I think has aged well and is still as good.

After all, were they not trying to get home, and stay home for good? Which would have been, presumably 'the end'.

I remember vaguely an episode where there was a portal back home but they had to run off to save someone/thing else and it closed.

No seriously, I'm really tempted to order these on DVD, but there's been quite a few things I've bought on DVD lately that I've soon regretted as it's been released on blu-ray as well. So I've more or less stopped buying DVDs at the moment, at least until I can check if there is a blu-ray release coming. That's mostly for older movies though, almost all new releases come to both formats now.

I watched the interview last night with the 4 main voice artists (one of whom was also the director/producer, so he tells you the whole backstory of the English production). Tim Skutt's on the interview too! Way cool. There's 6 discs and they all have extra's - fabulousfilm have done a really good job.

My wife was surprised at how young Phillip Schofield looked - he's about 20 in the clip!
