The competition is as always, get the hiscore and take a screenshot of the hiscore. Then upload your screenshot to the members gallery on the main site and then link to the image in this thread to prove your score.

Good luck everyone. I hope you all have fun playing this great game. After this we will then move on to Super Stardust for the next competition.

Hmm...cant get the controls to work, not to mention it runs slow :hmmm:

Try disabling the FPU and unticking the two "more compatible" options and see if that speeds it up, and make sure JIT is not ticked. I won't work properly if it is.

I tried to upload a picture of my high-score, but when prompted for which album it should belong to, the Slam Tilt one is not available. The only album options are POD, Pinball Fantasies and Xenon. :( Hope someone can help me out here. :hattip:

If possible upload the image to the main site's members gallery and link to it. So all images remain together.

BTW, the new version of vBulletin out soon features a built in members gallery, so everyone will be able to create albums in their profiles and upload images directly into the forum. So soon everyone won't need to use external image hosting all all. Plus it has a built in popup lightbox so when thumbnails in posts are clicked they enlarge as the screenshots on the main site's game section do.

How on earth do you upload a picture to the album?? I'm totally befuddled, confused, lost and even confunded.

Submeg
26th November 2007, 21:53

How on earth do you upload a picture to the album?? I'm totally befuddled, confused, lost and even confunded.

Log into the main site and then go to the members Area. The click on the Members Gallery link, which can be found along the top row of navigation, and also under the left hand profile menu.

Once the gallery window loads, click on "Upload file", which can be found at the top of the page in the row of links. This will load the Upload file screen. Click on the Brose link next to the first File Uploads entry and select the image you wish to upload, and then click continue, and the site will upload the image. Once uploaded the next screen will allow you to select the album it is to go into, in this case this is the "Slamtilt - Ace of Space" album, and then give it a name, which for competitions will be the hiscore and you username, a description if you wish, and then click continue to add it.

Then to add the image to the forum, navigate to the image in the gallery and open it up at full size so it appears in the popup window, then right click the image and either look at the image properties and copy the image location, or select "copy image location" if you are using firefox, and then just use this url in the forum to add the image.

As I mentioned in the other post, the next version of vBulletin has a built in members gallery, so we won't have to use coppermine for much longer, and it will make life much easier.

I'm having a nightmare with the images. One it will upload but not place the file and the other is too large. Just when i got a monster high score of 1,018,945,000.

Harrison
27th November 2007, 14:04
Email me the file at dave@classicamiga.com and I will add it for you.

Buleste
27th November 2007, 14:28
Have emailed you the pictures. hope you have better luck.

Harrison
27th November 2007, 18:10
There was something wrong with the image file because when I tried to upload it I got an error saying coppermine couldn't place the image. Is that the same error you had? But I fixed it by loading the image into Photoshop and saving it again as a new jpg and coppermine then accepted it.

So here is Buleste's current hiscore. Read it and weep!

Ooh, I love Slam Tilt, I'll have to give this a go.

However, you are all total amateurs :p

I wonder if any of you could match some of the scores we achieved in the EAB competition: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=29903

Graham Humphrey
28th December 2007, 23:12
Well, it took me about an hour to get my score, so the mind boggles, it really does. It did surprise me just how competitive some of those people are when it comes to games competitions...

Harrison
28th December 2007, 23:40
I'm glad we don't have anyone on here who takes hiscores that seriously! *looks at Submeg!*

But seriously, our competitions are just about having some fun, and will soon be expanding into more online multiplayer games in the new year. So all those interested in playing against other classicamiga members remember to add your suggestions for multiplayer games in the clan area of the forum. It doesn't matter what the game or platform is as long as it can be played between at least 2 players over the internet.

I personally want to get a classicamiga Quake 3 server up and running for us to drop in and play when ever we want to shoot each other. ;)

Whoa whoa don't drag me into this, I love the arcade, that is all. Not like I sit there all day playing. you guys have me all wrong lol

This competition is now finally closed.

The winners are as follows:

Rank|Name|Points

2nd|Buleste|1,018,945,000|
3rd|Harrison|80,402,930|

Congratulations to you both. Quite mad that I managed to come third! I only posted that score after a half hearted play of the game to check the emulation settings, and to post a score to get the ball rolling.

And on Friday I will be launching a new hiscore competition. Game will be revealed with the launching of the new comp. ;)
